That's what kills me about US bobsled


Possibly the easiest path to going to the Olympics in the US. Basically it's a club at Lake Placid, so if you're one of a couple hundred people, ie, win the club championship, you can go to the Olympics! I know there's another track in Utah, so maybe double that. So yeah, I believe it, connive an angle like you describe and you're in, ie, you have citizenship in some warm country but can get there for lessons, eg, Mexico, Lesotho, Thailand whatever and you can represent your countryb/c the Olympic Committee allows this stuff even encourages it.

So yeah, your buddies can say they are Olympic athletes with a straight face. They are.

PS When the Jamaican bobsled team at least did better then the US it really shouldn't have been that big of a surprise. Unlikely maybe but not really a surprise.
